The Commanders Club of Michigan
The members of The Commanders Club of Michigan (CDRs Club) are authorized to wear several different U.S. Navy uniforms. Wearing of a uniform is not mandatory; members may optionally wear business attire with the CDRs Club pocket devise. Commanders Regulation 2017-06 provides detailed information of uniform wear.
Authorized uniforms include the following:
Service Dress Blue Uniform
Summer White Uniform
Service Khaki Uniform
Service Dress White Uniform
Navy Working Uniform Type III
Currently Serving and Retired Officers
Currently serving officers may wear their United States Navy uniform with the rank that he/she currently holds. Retired officers may wear their United States Navy uniform with the rank that he/she held at the time of retirement.
Authorized Wearing of the Uniform
Authorization to wear the CDRS Club uniform is detailed in Commanders Regulation 2017-06. Commanders are authorized to wear the uniform while participating in authorized CDRs Club events. Authorized CDRs Club events include, but are not limited to, the following:
Monthly CDRs Club meetings
The Adjunct General (TAG) Social
United States Coast Guard Parade
United States Navy and United States Coast Guard ship commissionings/decommissionings
The CO or XO may authorize the wearing of uniforms at other events when a written request is received.
The CDRs Club excludes the wearing of any uniform to the following type of events:
Political events
Fundraising events/activities
Publicity events that include the media
Contact the CO or XO with any questions related to the wearing of the authorized uniforms.
Ordering Uniforms
Commanders should not order or wear any uniform until he/she has received their Commission. Authorized uniforms may be purchased from the Navy Exchange (NEX) Uniform Center. Contact the Operations Officer for information on how uniforms are purchased from the NEX. Additionally, authorized uniforms may be purchased from: Salute Uniforms, Marlow White Uniforms, or Vanguard Uniforms.
The CDRS Club sleeve device, hard shoulder boards (Summer White uniform), soft shoulder boards (White uniform shirt), and pocket device may be purchased from the CDRs Club Administrative Assistant, Amanda Oboza during any monthly meeting. These items may also be purchased by contacting the Operations Officer.
Ordering Name Tags
The following name tags are authorized for Service Dress Blue uniform, Summer White uniform, and Khaki uniform:
1 Standard U.S. Navy Black Name Tag (Last Name Only)
2 The Commanders Club of Michigan Name Tag (First and Last Name)
See the CO, XO, or Operations Officer for information for the black sweater name tag. No name tag is worn with the black jacket or all-weather coat.
